Now the flagship center for arts and culture in the greater Buckhannon and surrounding communities, the Buckhannon Opera House is committed to being an active and accessible venue in our community. Renting time at the Buckhannon Opera House is easy and affordable. 

Our utmost priority is the protection and preservation of our community resources.  The Buckhannon Opera House serves north central West Virginia as both a treasured landmark and working venue. Keeping the opera house beautiful for all future events and generations is important to us.   

The Buckhannon Opera House is located on Main Street in the heart of historic Buckhannon, West Virginia. Whether you are interested in renting our facility for a wedding, birthday party, anniversary celebration, retirement dinner or business meeting, the Buckhannon Opera House offers several rental options in a beautifully restored, historic facility. Please be assured that the Opera House staff will work with you to help ensure that your event is a success!   

The Buckhannon Opera House is in what is originally the Crislip and Simpson Building built in 1893 and is accessed between the Chamber and Visitors Center and Citizens Bank of West Virginia. G.C. Murphy operated a retail store from 1928 through its closure in 1997, eventually expanding to the buildings on either side. The location was last used as Main Street Antiques until it moved across the street in 2012.
